Region 4 Blog

August ‘09

We are excited for what has happened and are in the works for the Ohio and West Virginia region.

  • There has been a commitment for three outreaches in the northern part of West Virginia alone!
  • Cleveland is doing two outreaches with two new Team Captains!
  • The Ohio Valley Athletic Conference had a great football camp and successful banquet!
  • The fires in Columbus are burning strong.

Thanks to everyone is a volunteer with this ministry. You are special to God and to me.

Shalom!  Larry Holycross

Welcome to my Blog!

Having never attended a football camp, I am excited about the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Camp opportunity! What an education this will be for me. The camp dates are Wednesday, June 10 to Saturday June 13, held in St Clairsville, Ohio. To watch former professional athletes share their expertise with young men ages 7 – 13 in specific disciplines will be an adventure. I know these young players will not soon forget these days of athletic instruction.

But the greater reward will be the opportunity to interact with these young men and share with them about life. Athletics is a great metaphor, and so much can be learned on the field that transcends into all areas of our lives. The lessons learned and instruction given by the pro athletes will forever change their thinking, attitudes, and discipline. Who knows, these few days may make an eternal difference also. That impact is far greater than simply learning plays and drills at a football camp.
